Covering Dark Circles....The Do's and Dont's

Either with lack of sleep or a long night of partying, We have all gotten dark circles one way or the other. Not only is it uncomfortable but it's not very flattering. As we get older, our undereye area start to sag and get puffy. There are many reasons why we get Dark Circles/Puffy Eyes: heredity, aging, dry skin, prolonged crying, working for long hours in front of a computer, mental or physical stress, lack of sleep and an unhealthy diet. Dark circles are not a serious skin problem, but they make people look tired, exhausted, unhealthy and older. Below are some tips on how to reduce dark circles and puffy eyes to keep you look fresh faced for the rest of the day.

1. Take a metal spoon and place it in the freezer for about an hour. When it's nice and cold, place the spoon directly onto the undereye area. This will help with shrinking the blood vessels and ease swollen skin. Think of it as when you ice your ankle when it's swollen or have a knot in your head. Cold reduces swelling. It's a scientific fact, so Why not use it for puffy bags.

2. Buy a great concealer. What I find best is the NYX Under eye corrector or the Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal. Use a beauty blender and apply it to the dark circle area. Use a yellow or pink  base color. The yellow will balance out the purple/dark area, Do not use your normal foundation as the undereye area will still look discolored. Put a translucent face powder over the concealer so it can avoid creasing.
